Terms of Service
Television Comedy Workshop Intensive

Effective July 13, 2025

1. Definitions
‘Studio’ refers to Allen Hooper's 104 Acting Studio. 'Intensive' refers to the Television Comedy Workshop Intensive. ‘Student’ refers to any registered attendee of the Intensive.

2. Workshop Description
The Intensive is a one-day program divided into two parts:

a. Co-Star Comedy Challenge (morning): Students participate in mock producer sessions, seeing “behind the curtain” and gaining the insights of casting's POV. Goals include making average roles interesting, extreme roles genuine, and enhancing acting choices by visualizing the environment via experience, research and imagination.

b. TV Comedy/Sitcom Training (afternoon): Students perform one-on-one sides with a reader, using assigned or selected material. Goals include analyzing the precise dialogue to bring it to life, shifting your type to align with the writer’s intent, and adapting theatre/improv skills for TV comedy.

Q&A is integrated throughout.

3. Fees and Payment
The fee is listed in the Studio's advertising and may vary based on the location. A non-refundable $30 deposit is required to secure your reservation, with the remaining balance due three (3) days prior to the event. Failure to pay balance on time will result in forfeiture of your reservation and deposit. Fees and deposits for Intensives hosted by third-party organizations are set by the host. Payment may be made through approved methods (e.g. Venmo, PayPal, Zelle), with instructions provided upon reservation.

4. Location and Schedule
The general location and event date/start time are listed in the Studio’s advertising. Confirmation of the exact location will be provided with reservation confirmation. The Intensive runs for 8 hours, typically with a 3-hour morning session, a 1-hour lunch break, and a 4-hour afternoon session. Attendees are responsible for their own lunch.

5. Cancellation
a. Student Cancellation: Notify the Studio at least three (3) days before the Intensive to cancel. With timely notice, deposit may be gifted to another student for a new sign-up or held as credit for any Studio offering (e.g. workshops, classes, or private coaching). Credit is not valid for events hosted by third-party organizations and must be redeemed within one (1) year of the Intensive date. Less than three (3) days’ notice forfeits the deposit unless the Studio, at its sole discretion, decides otherwise. No refunds or credits are issued for no-shows.

b. Late Arrivals: Late arrivals may need to use different material/sides based on the morning’s lesson plan.

c. Studio Cancellation: If the Studio cancels the Intensive, a full refund will be issued immediately or within 24 hours if immediate processing is unavailable.

6. Code of Conduct
Students must act respectfully toward instructors, staff, and peers. No recordings of the Intensive are permitted. Any Student recording the event or engaging in disruptive behavior (e.g. harassment, disrespect, unruliness) may be expelled without refund.

7. Safety and Liability
Students participate at their own risk. Studio is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or loss sustained during the event, except where caused by Studio’s gross negligence or willful misconduct. Students agree to follow all safety instructions, including but not limited to venue rules and conduct guidelines. By attending, Students release and hold harmless Studio, its owner, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation to the fullest extent permitted by law. Students with medical conditions or physical limitations must inform the Studio in writing prior to the event for reasonable accommodation, if feasible. Students assume responsibility for monitoring their health and agree not to attend if they are exhibiting symptoms of a communicable disease. Minors under 18 require written parental consent to participate.

8. Miscellaneous
a. Studio does not offer, procure, or promise auditions or employment opportunities.

b. By registering, you agree to these Terms. The Studio may update these Terms for future events, with notice provided via the Studio’s website or registration process.

c. If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms are governed by Georgia law, with any disputes resolved in Chatham County, Georgia courts.
